How To Perform Tesla Two-Button Reset

The two-button reset on a Tesla can restart the touchscreen and computer system. It is a soft reset that does not erase any data or settings.

To perform a two-button reset on a Tesla, follow these steps:

  1. Put the car in park.
  2. Make sure all doors are closed.
  3. Press and hold both scroll wheels on the steering wheel for 10 seconds.
  4. The touchscreen will go black, and then the Tesla logo will appear.
  5. Wait for the touchscreen to restart, which should take about 30 seconds.

The two-button reset can be used to fix various problems with the touchscreen, such as freezing, unresponsiveness, or graphical glitches. It can also be used to clear the cache and free up memory.

Here are some things to keep in mind when performing a two-button reset:

  • You must be in the park to perform a two-button reset.
  • You should not be driving when you perform a two-button reset.
  • The two-button reset does not erase any data or settings.
  • The touchscreen may take a few minutes to restart after a two-button reset.

If you are experiencing problems with your Tesla touchscreen that are not fixed by a two-button reset, you may need to contact Tesla Service for further assistance.
